Fastener process requirements
Hydrogen-relief bake after plating
For hardened fasteners above 32 HRC, the drawing should specify a hydrogen-relief bake after zinc plating.
Rolled and cut threads
The thread-forming method is selected from diameter, material, hardness and the drawing requirement. Load-bearing threads are not changed without approval.
Hardness verification
Fasteners are machined and heat-treated to the specified property class. Measured hardness is included in the inspection record.
Material specified on the drawing
Production follows the property class or material grade stated on the drawing. Any proposed change requires written approval.

- Carbon steelS45C and 1045, quenched and tempered or induction hardened. S45C notes →
- Alloy steel4140 and SCM440 when the property class calls for it. 4140 notes →
- Stainless304 and 316L when corrosion matters more than strength. 316L notes →
- 17-4PHFor fasteners that need to be hard and corrosion resistant at the same time. 17-4PH notes →
- Aluminium6061, 7075 for fixtures | Steel thread insert per design requirement.
- CertificateMill test certificate to EN 10204 3.1 on request, plus our own hardness reading
Stainless thread assembly: consider galling risk | Options: anti-seize, dissimilar mating material or thread insert | Per assembly requirement. All grades we run →
Pre-shipment inspection

Packing: counted; labels with part number, PO line, quantity | Sampling plan agreed before the first batch.
Common questions
What is the difference between rolled and cut thread?
Thread rolling: formed by pressure, work hardening at the thread root | Thread cutting: material removal | Method per drawing.
Property class 8.8 and 10.9?
Fasteners are machined and heat-treated to the specified property class. Measured hardness is included in the inspection record.
Do I need a bake after zinc plating?
Hydrogen-relief bake after plating: confirmed per hardness, material and the standard on the drawing before plating.
Scope for standard bolt production?
Scope: special fasteners, small and medium batches | High-volume standard bolts: require dedicated cold-forming lines.
Can you make fasteners in stainless?
Materials: 304, 316L, 17-4PH | Stainless assembly: consider anti-seize, mating material or thread insert.
What do you need to quote a fastener?
RFQ: thread size and standard; property class or material; length; head form; plating; hydrogen-relief bake; quantity | Quote: within 24 business hours once information is complete.
